Lindsey M. Hoskin’s work has prepared her to successfully help individuals, families, and couples who are going through a troublesome time. Her role as a researcher, teacher, and therapist in Bethesda, MD has enabled her to make a difference in the lives of those who really need that extra support. Many of her clients are couples who are trying to overcome a disagreement or challenge in their relationship, often revolving around communication breakdown, loss of connection/passion, infidelity, and more.
She understands the interwoven and complex nature of family dynamics, especially those with adolescents and young adults. Issues frequently discussed during her family therapy include identifying/establishing appropriate child-parent boundaries, school performance, behavior concerns, and communication.
Lindsey’s training in medical family therapy makes her drawn towards helping those with genetic or medical conditions. She has extensive experience working with women who have BRCA mutations, and ovarian cancer or hereditary breast cancer. Other health conditions Lindsey has worked with include:
- Down Syndrome
- Familial Testicular Cancer
- Colon Cancer
- Li-Fraumeni Syndrome
- Huntington’s Disease
- BRCA (breast and ovarian cancer)
Lindsey takes her role seriously when helping people through particularly painful and difficult times. She always brings warm empathy to every session, and maybe some humor too when possible and suitable. Life isn’t easy, and having a kind-hearted therapist to offer support can be incredibly healing.
